Compliance Auditor
High Tide is seeking a Compliance Auditor that will ensure that all compliance policies are being adhered to. They will also help identify gaps in the various policies and processes to ensure that the company is meeting all compliance requirements in all jurisdictions that it operates in. This includes the company’s operations in the retail stores as well as its online presence. This position reports into the VP & Legal Counsel.
A day in the life:
- Build a compliance audit Plan and conduct compliance and firm compliance audits as needed.
- Regularly visit retails stores throughout Canada to conduct spot-checks and compliance audits to ensure that all stores are following our compliance standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Regularly visit e-commerce websites worldwide to ensure that everything is being conducted in a compliant manner.
- Regularly visit all company websites and social media accounts to ensure content meets all compliance requirements.
- Work with the Compliance Specialist to ensure that compliance SOPs are being followed and are up to date.
- Prepare and submit compliance audit reports.
- Assist in processing and following up on corrective actions identified during compliance audits.
- Provide advice and ongoing support to individual registrants with respect to individual audits.
- Track non-compliances of competitors and ensure they are properly reported to the respective regulatory enforcement bodies.

- Preparation of audit program materials, including program guide, manuals, questionnaires, templates, and policies.
- Assist the improvement of the audit program by obtaining feedback from regulators and identifying areas for refinement.
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of continual improvement of policies and procedures.
- Deliver presentations and training sessions on the audit program, as required.
- Additional tasks to support the regulatory Standards, and updates.
- Keep abreast of all Internal Audit best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other duties as required.
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have the following:
- University Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Economics, Business Administration.
- CIA, CRMA, CISA is preferred.
- Internal Audit, risk management or compliance experience (at least 5 years) with related roles in audit, risk management, controls, quality assurance.
- Knowledge of auditing practices, regulatory requirements and risk management principles.
- Experience with SOX Compliance would be an asset.
- Experience in working in an international and growing public company an asset.
- Diverse audit experience including performing comprehensive, compliance and/or operational audits
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to compose a variety of documents.
- Strong analytical, research, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management skills including the ability in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
