Project Coordinator
High Tide is seeking a dynamic Project Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Construction the Project Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of new construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects for various sites across Canada. The incumbent will undertake a variety of tasks and work with numerous service vendors across their designated region.
A day in the life:
- Ensure all operating facilities are code compliant with any relevant legislation in the applicable jurisdiction or line of business, inclusive of cannabis retail/distribution and warehousing.
- Ensure effective management of loss prevention and site maintenance for all related systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, retail spaces).
- Maintain general status reports for all properties (develop as required).
- Request quotations, review contracts, organize all documentation for initiation to completion as required to maintain the properties (requisitions, invoices, and records).
- Arrange and ensure 24/7 availability of emergency services.
- Maintain and enhance a trade/vendor support contact list for all required service skills. Research new services and vendors to manage repair costs.
- Plan and prioritize multiple projects/work orders while meeting strict deadlines.
- Monitor the cycle for service and repair (quarterly, bi-annual or annual).
- Responsible for proper inventory of supplies (retail store parts).
- Maintain an inventory of manuals and warranties.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders providing excellent customer service and fostering positive working relations at all times.
- Responsible for completing new store inspections and walk throughs prior to store opening.
- Responsible for executing on maintenance service needs across Canada using internal ticketing system.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Possesses a valid driver's license
- Facilities coordination experience or similar
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, Smartsheets etc.) and email.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong degree of prioritization, organization, urgency to manage multiple competing projects with various deadlines.
- The ability to motivate and engage vendors to deliver on expectations.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and written.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Technical Trade Designation - mechanical, electrical, industrial, carpentry considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation considered a strong asset.
- Working knowledge of environmental safeguards and alarm systems, considered a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance and operation considered a strong asset
- First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets.
Working Conditions and Requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses, etc.
- Flexible hours as required
- Will be required to travel across Canada as needed ( up to 25% or more)
- Work both indoors and outdoors
- Will be exposed to construction sites
